Production Process
Camellia seeds are hand-picked from each tea tree during the harvest period. The seeds undergo drying, shelling, and further drying of the kernels to increase oil yield while ensuring they remain dry and mold-free. After pressing, the oil must sit for about a week to allow impurities to separate, and the clear top layer is then bottled and stored.
The seeds are heated before pressing to break down saponins, enhance flavor, and increase yield. Proper heating is crucial; undercooked seeds result in bitter saponins, while overcooked seeds produce a burnt taste.
